上周，德州仪器 (TI) 在位于马里兰州日耳曼敦的工厂（我的工作地点）举行了“亲子工作体验”活动。有的孩子可能会对来到父母的工作单位体验感觉很好玩，但对 TI 员工的子女来说，本次活动确实意义非常。（除了品尝甜甜圈、比萨饼和冰激淋之外，他们还有更多的收获！）。
此次活动面向一年级及以上学龄儿童，活动目标是让孩子们感受TI的项目是多么的振奋人心。为此，我们举办了以下互动活动：，
- 图形视频介绍
- 如何拆卸计算机
- 欢迎进入 Android 用户体验
- TI 让卡通栩栩如生
- 多核影像处理演示
- 乐高头脑风暴
可以想象的到，孩子们对这些互动活动和演示该是多么的兴奋。或许在当天活动之前，有些孩子可能都不知道什么是多核处理器，也不会知道 TI 技术是如何改进 X 光影像的。而这，正是本次活动的意义所在：激发孩子们对科学技术的热爱，让他们和那些TI从事多核开发工作的最聪明的工作人员进行零距离的最亲密接触。
最后一场活动结束后，孩子们和楼里的 TI 员工一道在大厅里品尝了冰激淋，一个孩子跑到我身边说：“我以前不知道 TI 技术原来还跟乐高玩具、卡通和 X 光有关系。在这里工作可真酷啊！”
是啊，还有谁能比那些从事科技工作的父母感到骄傲呢？

Last week, at TI’s Germantown, Maryland facility (where I work), we held a “Bring Your Daughters and Sons to Work” day. While some kids might LOL at the idea of coming to work with their parents, this was a not to be missed event for children of TI employees (and not just because we served donuts, pizza and ice cream!)
The day was geared towards school-aged children from first grade and up, and our goal was to expose them to some of the exciting projects we work on at TI. Some of the interactive sessions we held included:
- Introduction to graphics & video
- How to take apart a computer
- Welcome to the Android user experience
- TI helps bring your cartoons to life
- Multicore image processing demo
- Lego Mindstorm fun
As you can imagine, the children were pretty excited by these interactive sessions and demonstrations. Before the day’s event, it was doubtful that any of them knew what a multicore processor was, or that TI makes technology that enhances x-ray images. But that’s really what this day was about: inspiring young minds in science and technology and exposing them to some of the brightest men and women who have made multicore the focus of their careers at TI.
After the last session was over and the kids joined the rest of the TI employees in the building for an ice cream social in the lobby, one of them came up to me and said “I didn’t know TI had anything to do with Lego, cartoons or x-rays before today. It’s SO cool to work here!”
