Position:Tools& Methodology Staff Applications Engineer
Work Location: Shanghai
As a Tools and MethodologyApplications Engineer you will work with field sales teams to drive successfuldeployment and adoption of Xilinx design tools and methodologies at key Xilinxaccounts around the world. You will apply your expertise and knowledge ofstate-of-the-art FPGA design practices while working directly with design,verification, and implementation engineers at customer sites to discover theirkey challenges, analyze their requirements, and then develop detailedrecommendations on how best apply Xilinx methodologies and solutions. Youwill consult with customers on the implementation of your recommendations todrive adoption of Xilinx techniques and software. Additional tasksinclude feedback of information to the factory, performance testing, benchmarkdefinition/implementation and results analysis, technical competitivecomparison, market analysis, and demonstration development and delivery. Travel is estimated at minimum 25%.
Responsibilities
Assist FAEs withcustomer design transitions to new Xilinx tools and methodologies, includingescalation of issues through the standard support flow to the factory
· Ensure ongoing communication with sales teams to understand customerchallenges, share worldwide experiences with new tools adoption, providefeedback to the factory
· Be a point contact for FAEs, bridging knowledge gaps in new Xilinx tools
· Develop and execute a plan to increase regional FAE knowledge and skills withnew tools and advanced design methodologies
· Collect and prioritize tool enhancement requests, coordinate feedback with thefactory
· Prioritize types and content of training material for the Xilinx training group
· Participate in regular Product Planning meetings to ensure field priorities areincorporated into future software releases
· Develop and distribute technical materials to support transition to new tools

Job Requirements
Solid understandingof semiconductor basics along with FPGA and ASIC fundamentals gained througheight or more years of experience as a chip designer or field applicationengineer. Hands-on design experience with FPGA (Xilinx and Altera) and/orASIC products with particular emphasis on the design flow including: VHDL andVerilog coding and optimization, HDL simulation, floorplanning, RTL synthesis,static timing analysis, formal verification, cell place and route, poweranalysis, device debugging and bring-up.
The candidate musthave the following:
· Extensive working knowledge of industry standard design tools and languages
- Mentor Modelsim, Synopsys Synplify Pro, Synopsys Design Constraint (SDC),System Verilog, C/C++, Perl and Tcl; Xilinx ISE and/or Altera Quartus II
· Five or more years of complex logic design, implementation, and verificationusing FPGA or ASIC products
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to rapidly establish rapport andcredibility
· Effective communication in both verbal and written form (English and Mandarinlanguage) with the ability to transfer knowledge to customer personnel using aconsultative/teaching approach
· Ability to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
· A collaborative work ethic geared to assist Xilinx field and factory personnelwith providing the best overall solution to customers and feedback customerrequirements to improve product offerings
· The desire to be on a winning team
· BSEE required, MSEE is a plus
· Korean and/or Japanese language skills are a plus
