PCB设计中有诸多需要考虑到安全间距的地方。在此，暂且归为两类：一类为电气相关安全间距，一类为非电气相关安全间距。
电气相关安全间距
1、导线间间距
就主流PCB生产厂家的加工能力来说，导线与导线之间的间距最小不得低于4mil。最小线距，也是线到线，线到焊盘的距离。从生产角度出发，有条件的情况下是越大越好，比较常见的是10mil。
2、焊盘孔径与焊盘宽度
就主流PCB生产厂家的加工能力来说，焊盘孔径如果以机械钻孔方式，最小不得低于0．2mm，如果以镭射钻孔方式，最小不得低于4mil。而孔径公差根据板材不同略微有所区别，一般能管控在0．05mm以内，焊盘宽度最小不得低于0．2mm。
3、焊盘与焊盘的间距
就主流PCB生产厂家的加工能力来说，焊盘与焊盘之间的间距不得低于0．2mm。
4、铜皮与板边的间距
带电铜皮与PCB板边的间距最好不小于0．3mm。在Design－Rules－Board outline页面来设置该项间距规则。
如果是大面积铺铜，通常与板边需要有内缩距离，一般设为20mil。在PCB设计以及制造行业，一般情况下，出于电路板成品机械方面的考虑，或者为避免由于铜皮裸露在板边可能引起卷边或电气短路等情况发生，工程师经常会将大面积铺铜块相对于板边内缩20mil，而不是一直将铜皮铺到板边沿。
