That's right, and it is the destination of learning english, but firstly you have to learn enough words, Phrases, and lots of articles to enrich yourself, and train yourself the language sense, then you can express yourself in english directly and quickly without any translation in your mind.
For writing english:
I think we shouldn't worry about the new words, because we can use the PowerWord, or other translation tools when we forget how to spell some word, But you need to learn the english language structure, but do not always write out some words freely, because maybe only you understand what you mean.And the special phrase is also important.
For oral english:
I think an english-speaking environment is the most important and shortcut to learn spoken-english well. And as i said above, you should read lots of english information to train your english language sense. What's more, firstly you should have a good listening skill, if you can't understand what the others said, then how can you continue the communication.
Maybe i said too long, just my opinion. English learning needs system study and should be step by step.
