Programming/Verifying 18V00 PROMs with Platform USB cable fails
Description
Keywords: 18v04, 18v02, 18V01, 18V512, error, program
iMPACT reports "Programming Failed" or "Verify Failed" when I use a Platform Cable USB to program and verify a XC18V512, XC18V01, XC18V02 or XC18V04 PROM.
Solution
This problem has been observed when using iMPACT version 8.2 to 7.1i sp2 to program PROMs with markings of "AEN" and running Platform USB cable at 6 MHz or above.
To work around this problem, set the cable speed as follows:
- 3 MHz or lower when using 7.1 or 8.1
- 1.5 MHz or lower when using 8.2 or later Design Environment Tools.
PROMs with "ART" or "BRT" marking will not be affected by this problem and can be run at full speed.
