Both you and your wife are right!
As a man,
you need feed your family.
You first need to find a job that generate the cash flow to pay for all the bills,
such as:
food, house, gas, water, tuition fee......
Actually, you need enough cash flow for 3 years.
When you have achieved $2,000 a month cash flow from your business,
then you will be wealthy.
You will grow richer,
with more and more income from sources other than your physical labor.
I advised that you build your own company.
You need to learn all the aspects of business systems, too.
By doing so,
you gain an overall knowledge of the operations of the business and how the various departments interrelate.
In the past,
it was considered "bad" to skip from company to company.
Today, it is considered smart.
Since people will skip from company to company,
rather than seek greater specialization,
why not seek to "learn" more than "earn".
In the short term, it may earn you less.
In the long term, it will pay off in large dividends.
The main management skills needed for success are:
1. The management of cash flow
2. The management of systems (including yourself and time with family).
3. The management of people.
The most important specialized skills are sales and understanding marketing.
It is the ability to sell--therefore, to communicate to another human being,
be it a customer, employee, boss, spouse or child-that is the base skill of personal success.
It is communication skills such as writing, speaking and negotiating that are crucial to a life of success.
It is a skill that you should work on constantly,
attending courses or buying educational books to expand your knowledge.
I encouraged you to know a little about a lot.
I encouraged you to work with people smarter than you were and
to bring smart people together to work as a team.
Today it would be called a synergy of professional specialities.
At last,
if you do so,
you may have -a passive cash flow of over $500,000 a year,
more than you makes from your salary.
Note:
Although your salary went up,
your choices diminished.
Soon after you lost your job,
you found out how vulnerable you really was professionally.
Your once high-paying position is gone,
and you have limited skills to fall back on.
What success means?
The freedom to make choices!
That's my motto, MAKE IT YOURS!!!
Good luck!
