SeniorIT System Administrator based in Xilinx Beijing office.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is primarily for a SeniorSystems Administrator who is accountable to provide critical infrastructuresystems support and administration for a 24X7 production mission criticalenterprise IT environment that supports a large engineering development and salesuser base.

Work as a key member of the Asia Pac IT teamto provide excellent IT operational support by resolving daily user troubletickets and critical infrastructure incidents. This would be done in accordancewith the defined processes and meeting the agreed service level agreements.

Actively participates in problem management,implementation of corrective actions, and improvement of existing processes andservice level standards to drive high systems availability, resilience andreliability.

Maintain and administer the IT infrastructureby making appropriate configuration changes, applying the necessary securitypatches, implementing upgrades and enhancements. This would include capacityplanning and performance tuning of the environment to optimize performance.

Beprepared to work collaboratively with the other IT teams on global and regionalprojects. This would require active participation and contributions duringrequirement, design and implementation phases.

Manageexcellent relationship with vendors.
·
Occasional travel within China andinternationally is required.
EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS REQUIRED
·
University Degree or equivalent qualificationwith 7-8 years of solid hands-on track record supporting engineeringand/or business mission critical systems in the job roles described above.
·
LinuxOS skills principally in Red Hat Linux, UNIX OS skills principally in the areasof Sun Solaris and HP UX, and Windows OS skills principally inWindows 2003 & 2008 server OS, Windows XP & Windows 7 desktop OS. OtherMicrosoft skills in MS Exchange, MS AD and MS IIS are desirable. And server hardware skills in HPblade servers and enclosures, and Dell servers.

Storageadministration skills in managing NAS and SAN storage solutions based on Netappand Isilon technologies. With complimenting skills in enterprise tape backupsoftware such as Veritas Netbackup, and enterprise tape library systems such asSun and Quantum tape libraries.

Experiencedin administering network services such as DNS, NIS, NFS, LDAP, SSH, FTP, remoteaccess, and security management systems. With good knowledgeof TCP/IP networking fundamentals.

Certification in the above technical skillset is essential.

Very strong ability to work independently, aswell as part of a global support team with minimal supervision. A team playerwho possesses a good command of English, and has excellent verbal and writtencommunication skill to communicate effectively with management and users at alllevels.

Have an analytical mind which can applytrouble shooting skills systemically and methodologically to identify rootcause and corrective actions.
